Bert Karon was the kindest, most supportive and most encouraging psychologist I have ever known. His outstanding scholarship and unwavering persistence in honing his humane approach to his clients inspired everyone who knew him. Bert was not only a giant among his peers but a wonderful human being who radiated optimism and joy despite his own struggles in the later years of his life. He gave and accepted generously, greeted everyone with a smile, treated the high and the low with equal respect, and lightened the heaviest burdens with empathy, humor, and understanding.

Our field has lost one its great heroes and champions for human dignity.
